Anna University of Technology Tirunelveli was established on 17th September 2007 by a Tamilnadu Government Act No.28 of 2007. Anna University of Technology Tirunelveli is bestowed with powers to grant affiliations to engineering colleges situated within the 4 districts - Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari. Anna University of Technology Tirunelveli persistently endeavours for excellence in education, research and societal service through highly committed and skilled teachers who are also adept researchers in various emerging and cutting edge technologies.
Anna University of Technology Tirunelveli has also established two University Colleges of Engineering, at Thoothukudi and Nagercoil during the academic year 2009-10. As on date, the total number of affiliated colleges is 65.

TO ACHIEVE THIS MISSION WE:

- Establish Centres of Excellence in research areas such as Alternate and Renewable Energy, Environmental Management, Ocean Resources Management, Remote Sensing and Rare Earth Mineral Separation and engage faculty and student in research.
