Goals and objectives

Placement & Training Cell, Anna University Regional Campus, Tirunelveli strive to achieve the 100% placement for the students in various industries. Training programmes for the students is being arranged in collaboration with CUIC, Anna University, Chennai. Placement & Training Cell welcomes the companies for both on-campus and off-campus recruitments. Students are motivated to do internships, online certification programmes and workshops.

The primary objective is to attain good placements by nurturing the students throughout their studies and transform them into a better personality.
Initially, the students are encouraged to participate in the internship program offered by various organizations, industries and AICTE Internshala. The students are also motivated to engage themselves in Industrial visits and industrial trainings in order to acquire industry practical exposure and experience.
It is proposed to conduct trainings periodically to improve the communication skills, soft skills and other job specific skills for the students. Simultaneously, the students will be trained by subject experts from both industry and academics in the latest technological areas.
Scrupulous efforts are being taken to sign MoU with various industries for placement and training activities. The campus is working on enriching the students in multiple aspects and invite prominent industries to recruit our talented student.

Placement Activities

Placement activities in 2013-2014

Placement training was conducted on 23rd and 24th August 2013 for the Regional Office Tirunelveli, University College of Engineering, Thoothukudi and University College of Engineering, Nagercoil final year student’s .The resource persons from Cognizant Technology solutions, Tata Consultancy Services and Cisco were given presentation and conducted Mock GD and interviews.
The Director, Centre for University & Industry Collaboration (CUIC) Dr.T.Thiyagarajan visited the campus on 19th and 20th October 2013 and interacted with the final year students of the three campuses and discussed the current trends and job opportunity.
NASSCOM Assessment of Competence-Technology (NAC -Tech) online test was conducted for pre-final year and final students of Regional Office Tirunelveli on 11th October 2013. NAC -Tech has been conceived as an industry standard assessment and certification program to ensure the Transformation of a “trainable” workforce into an “employable” workforce.
On-Campus placement drive with E CARE TECH LABS was conducted on 3rd Feb 2014 at Regional Centre, Tirunelveli campus. The final year Students from Regional Office, University colleges & Affiliated engineering colleges participated in this drive. Totally 800 students attended. 3 students from our campus got selected.
Placement Training Program for the final year UG students – B.E (CSE), B.Tech (IT) & B.E (Geo Informatics) has been conducted from 18th Feb 2014 to 21st Feb 2014 (4 days) at Regional Centre, Tirunelveli campus by TROI MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS PRIVATE LIMITED.

Placement activities in 2014-2015

TCS Corporate Social Responsibility scheme along with CUIC – Anna University has conducted placement training programme for the third and final year students of Tirunelveli Region 3 campuses. Totally 120 students participated from 3rd week of September 2014 to 1st week of April 2015 on every weekends.
Dynamic solutions, Trichy & CUIC has conducted placement training programme for the final year students from 2nd week March 2015 with the duration of 5 days.

Placement activities in 2015-2016

Placement training was conducted on 18th and 19th September 2015 (2 days) for the final year student’s at Regional Office Tirunelveli. The resource persons from Cognizant Technology solutions, Tata Consultancy Services and Cisco were given presentation and conducted Mock GD and interviews.
INET Technologies, Chennai has conducted on-campus placement drive for the final year students studying in the disciplines of B.E – CSE and B.Tech IT & MCA on 22nd September 2015. 5 students got placed in this drive.
Intrigo Systems India Ltd, Chennai has conducted one day Placement Training Workshop for UG Prefinal years in our campus on 18th April 2016. There were 80 students attended this programme.
Paradigm Technologies, Cochin has conducted on campus placement drive for the final year Geo-informatics students on 3rd and 4th May 2016. 8 students got placed.

Placement activities in 2015-2016

Career Guidance Program for the final year UG & PG students is scheduled on 16th February 2017. The expert members from Centre for University-Industry Collaboration (CUIC), Anna University Chennai will handle the sessions.
Centre for International Affairs, Anna University,Chennai & Regional Campus Tirunelveli jointly organized a lecture programme on study in Europe Information Events on 11th April 2017 This programme promoted the higher studies opportunities in European countries in the fields of science and technology.
CUIC – Titan – MPS – Employability training for final semester engineering students (Total 21) was conducted in April 2017 to develop aptitude and communication skills.
Anna University Regional Campus, Tirunelveli become one of the Infosys CampusConnect institute. Faculty & students will be benefitted by this programme initiative. MoU was signed between CUIC & Infosys.
